A Wearable Heirloom, Rooted in Centuries of Craft
Meet the Black Alo Bakhmal Chapan — a rare fusion of Central Asian heritage and contemporary luxury. Each piece is a testament to the artisans who have preserved these textile traditions for generations.
The Fabric
- Outer body: Premium cotton velour — a rich, dense real velvet with a deep, light-absorbing black finish and a signature crinkled texture that catches the light beautifully.
- Embroidered panels: Alo Bakhmal — a rare, 100% hand-woven traditional velvet from Central Asia, composed of 80% real silk and 20% high-quality cotton. The result is an extraordinary depth of colour and a luminous, jewel-like surface that cannot be replicated by machine.
- Lining & fill: Filled with high-quality cotton batting for exceptional warmth — making this chapan as functional as it is beautiful.
The Craft
The bold ikat-patterned Alo Bakhmal panels — featuring sweeping botanical motifs in crimson, gold, cream, and sage — are hand-woven using techniques passed down through generations of Uzbek artisans. No two pieces are identical.
This is not fast fashion. This is a piece you keep, wear with intention, and pass on.
*Embroidery may differ with each Chapan as they come from different artists.
